The Major Project for my MA Graphic Design at London College of Communication, entitled Colourful Language. This self-initiated, year long project was an investigation into the relationship between colour and language, focussing particularly on the words we describe and define colours and how we use them. Using a number of different methods including photography, generative systems, in-depth interviews and an extensive survey, the project aimed to explore the vocabulary we use to label colours in a visual manner. The resulting series of books are a celebration of colour and the language we use to describe it. One of the titles in the series has been used by GF Smith to promote their Mowhawk Everyday stock as an example of its colour reproduction qualities. Books from the project are available to view here.
